Commitment to quality of care and patient safety
Goodall’s formal quality improvement program, which involves every employee and department of the hospital, emphasizes teamwork and communication to achieve the Joint Commission’s Patient Safety Goals for reducing errors and providing optimum care for all patients. Quality teams representing multiple disciplines work together on a number of initiatives, including fall reduction, assessment, medication error reduction, and rapid response to improve the patient/family experience.
Customer/patient satisfaction is measured through survey and feedback and is shared with staff at all levels of the organization. Our goal: the best possible outcomes for every patient.
Commitment to a networked medical community
A key component of Goodall’s commitment to our community is the investment in information technology that provides patient results to the medical staff from all points of contact. A new Patient Archival Computer System (PACS) allows physicians immediate access to digital images via high definition computers screens. Electronic medical records were implemented in our nursing areas over a year ago, and a new computerized pharmacy system allows prescription tracking, electronic ordering and improved safety. A new initiative now underway will eventually link all providers electronically for improved efficiency and patient safety.
